As an extension to the Carriage Crossing Senior Living (CCSL) Rochester community, BLDD was commissioned to design a townhome/cottage master plan. The project is built on a 3.17-acre site that consists of 14 one-story cottage quadplexes, triplexes and duplexes.
Each of the independent living homes is designed with a farmhouse-like feel to compliment the surrounding agrarian context. The project is located directly west of the CCSL Rochester assisted living project that was completed by BLDD in 2021. The cottages are currently under construction.

Monarch Landing wanted to turn their tired, cafeteria-like cafe into a dynamic and fresh bistro environment, while finding efficiencies during the design process to better serve their residents and staff. The 124 seats can be arranged within a variety of settings which include the large main dining area, a more intimate banquet seating area, and the “pub,” which can be closed off with large barn doors for a private space or resident events.
Located on 8.5 acre site at the southwest corner of the intersection of S. Midlothian Rd. and Courtland St. in Mundelein, IL is a proposed 94 unit senior living community. The design is a subtle modern take on Colonial forms and concepts, consistent with the styling seen in many neighboring homes.
Sedgebrook operated both a formal dining venue as well as a "café" dining area. The café had become outdated and was transformed into a Bistro and Pub, providing new dining environments along with a refreshed menu.
