The Nokomis School District wanted to remodel their existing high school cafeteria, library, and business lab. The final spaces were developed using direct feedback from the testing of the prototypes using our Think BIG process.
Formal learning environments offer the option of both active and traditional learning settings. Active learning spaces refocus the emphasis to student-centered as opposed to teacher-centered. These spaces help facilitate critical thinking, by positioning teachers as facilitators rather than simply instructors. Small and large group rooms allow for a variety of groups to have quiet study or collaboration venues. Maker/Production rooms have adequate layout and storage space for the creation of projects. Directed instruction spaces offer a more traditional setting for lecture delivery. |
Final designs were developed using direct feedback from students, faculty, and staff testing two prototype spaces using our Think BIG process.
