Features:
  • New mix of single and double rooms
  • Gathering spaces
  • Downtown high-rise aesthetic
The unique shape of these mid-century marvels makes them signature buildings on the NIU campus, but the dated interiors scared off students.  A complete remodel helped breathe new life into the 13-story building, while still honoring the character.
Modern lifestyle amenities and upscale touches turned this dated dorm into a swanky high rise that students WANT to live in.

Details that make a difference.

  • A new mix of single and double rooms, gathering spaces, and a downtown high-rise aesthetic has made Grant Tower the most desirable student housing on campus.

  • Renovated spaces include 160 double occupancy rooms, 20 single occupancy rooms, two 1-bedroom apartments, one 2-bedroom apartment, a renovated office suite at the ground level and an enlarged and renovated laundry room in the basement.

  • The renovation included all of the support spaces for the student rooms. Toilet rooms were upgraded with all new fixtures, new finishes and new accessories to be brought up to ADA compliance.
