As part of a district-wide master plan implementation for Champaign Schools, BLDD is currently bringing the International Prep Academy (IPA) to life. This truly transformational educational environment will help diverse students learn in future-focused ways. With the help of intentional features that allow easy collaboration and project-based learning, such as operable walls and flexible seating, bilingual teams and faculty will be able to share students without leaving the classroom area.

At the heart of the IPA is the two-story commons space. This open gathering space acts as the lobby for sporting events, cultural events, a dining and cafeteria space throughout the day, and a performance space with tiered seating area and access to a stage. The upper commons overlooks the stage below and offers access to a large media center that will be home to a bilingual library that serves the school’s mission to support its diverse student community.

This truly transformational educational environment will help diverse students learn in future-focused ways.
