University of Illinois: Busey Evans Residence Hall Image

Busey-Evans Residence Hall, University of Illinois

Urbana-Champaign - IL

The historic restoration of two women’s residence halls, integrated the buildings into a single functioning unit. The project now serves as a showcase example of early 20th century university architecture. Additions of a new dining area, central entrance, stairways, and residence space were included in the program. While maintaining the original Georgian styling throughout, the basement, second, third, and fourth floors were gutted and reconfigured. The first floor was restored to its original design.
