Following a successful community engagement process led by BLDD that resulted in a passed referendum, the Monticello School District is positioned to complete much-needed facilities upgrades. Known for its high-achieving students, the district will soon feature facilities that reflect the high-quality academic, fine arts and athletic performance standards.
Monticello High School will receive an addition, which will feature nine classrooms, a secure entry and a administration office. This addition will complement the character of the building’s iconic, historical facade, while modernizing outdated spaces to 21st-century education standards. Students will enjoy a reimagined auditorium, media center, STEM labs, locker rooms and restrooms. Once complete, the renovated spaces will help Monticello School District house future-focused learning for years to come.
Among the upgrades, Washington Elementary will gain a 14-classroom addition to house the district’s PK-3 programs on a secure site, as well as a multipurpose gymnasium. In addition, the school will be updated with air conditioning.
This high-achieving district will soon feature facilities that are up to par with their high-quality academic, fine arts and athletic performance standards.
