Facing the challenges of long-term enrollment growth, aging facilities, concerns about equity and a desire to develop 21st century educational environments, the Geneseo School District commissioned the BLDD/R. L. Johnson/Unicom•ARC team to conduct a community engagement planning process to develop a long-term facilities master plan. The “Project Leaf” facilities master planning process resulted in a 5-year Master Plan that will serve as the District’s roadmap for future facilities decision making.
Projects at the high school include a 23,000 square foot addition containing an 850 seat concert hall, two band classrooms and lobby. Also included is approximately 53,000 square feet of interior renovations involving a complete renovation of the existing auditorium into a dedicated 300 seat drama theater, along with exterior facade upgrades, a new secure school entry, a new synthetic turf football field, 8-lane all weather track, 2,500 seat grandstand bleachers with press box, new concessions building along with main football field entry, track and field events and pedestrian plaza.
